Hua Hin Jazz Festival 2012
When: June 2012
Where: Hua Hin

The spectacular Hua Hin Jazz Festival is annually held in one of the most desirable locations, along the shimmering white sandy beach of Hua Hin. Enjoy a myriad of first-rate performances from the brilliantly gifted artists from Thailand and all over the world. And with its superb venue, guests can take advantage of the stunning seaside scenery whilst listening to a wide variety of quality Jazz music.

Dok Krachiao Blooming Festival
When: 1 June – 31 August 2012
Where: Chaiyaphum

Witness the beauty of the pinkish-purple Siam Tulip, or “Dok Krachiao” when they come into full bloom each year. Diverse features comprise the spectacular Dok Krachiao parade, music performances, and charity walking rally. Included programmes are also local art and craft demonstrations, and OTOP product fair. Nearby attractions are the extraordinary ‘Rock Garden’, Pha Eang Waterfalls, and Tum Kaew Caves.

Phi Ta Khon Festival
When: 1 June – 31 July 2012
Where: Loei

Phi Ta Khon is a type of masked procession celebrated on the first day of a three-day Buddhist merit-making holiday known in Thai as “Boon Pra Wate”. The annual festival takes place in May, June or July at a small town of Dan Sai in the northeastern province of Loei. Participants of the festival dress up like ghosts and monsters wearing huge masks made carved coconut-tree trunks, topped with a wicker-work sticky-rice steamer. The procession is marked by a lot of music and dancing.

Visakha Bucha
When: 4 June 2012
Where: Throughout Thailand

This day commemorates the birth, the enlightenment and the entry into the nirvana of Buddha. Temples throughout the country are crowded with people listening to sermons about Dharma (Buddha’s teaching) and in the evening there is a candlelit procession around the main building of the temple containing the Buddha statues.

Sunthorn Phu day
When: 25 – 26 June 2012
Where: Rayong

Sunthon Phu Day is held annually on 26 June , Sunthorn Phu was born in the fifth year of the reign of King Rama. The best of his poems is the epic romance Phra Aphai Mani. In 1986, he was listed as a person of international literary distinction by UNESCO. There are ceremony to respect Sunthon Phu and exhibition such as literary work and drama.
